Home Depot Color

Recently one of the neighbor girls was over to play with Isabel. Jay, being the admiring little brother, wanted to do everything his big sister was doing. Nancy handed out aprons to the kids before helping them with a particular craft project. As she did, the kids called out dibs on the apron colors.

"I want the pink one" Isabel announced.

"I want the purple one" called out Addy, the neighbor friend.

Jay joined in also as he reached for an orange apron, "I get the Home Depot one!"

I think that's pretty observant for a 2 year old.

Once when my nephew was quite young, he and his dad and I went to Home Depot. I was amazed as my nephew named off the items in the aisle while we walked by -- drywall, sheet rock, etc. Then, he said "Golf ball". I started to say "Home Depot doesn't sell golf balls!" but stopped to see what he was looking at. Sure enough, he had spotted a picture of a golf ball on some lawn-related advertisement!
